CCBRE’s Christmas Lecture
On December 10, 2025, the Center for Clean Technologies and Efficient Use of Biomass (CCBRE) held its first Christmas lecture—an event that marks the beginning of a new annual tradition. The academic community, partners, diplomats, and friends of the Center gathered on the campus of the Agricultural University of Plovdiv for an evening of inspiration, reflection, and genuine human connections.
The special guest lecturer was Sasha Bezuhanova—an internationally recognized leader, investor, philanthropist, and entrepreneur. She presented an inspiring vision for the time of transition in which we live: a world moving away from the model of individual success and toward a new value framework based on connectedness, community, and shared contribution. Bezukhanova expressed optimism about the role of the younger generation in Bulgaria and its commitment to a sustainable and just future.
Among the guests at the lecture was H.E. Pierre Hagman, Ambassador of Switzerland to Bulgaria, who visited CCBRE and showed strong interest in the Center’s activities and in the vision for clean technologies and innovation in the Plovdiv region.
Establishment of the Foundation
Following the official program, the initiators from the CCBRE team established the “Academy for Sustainable Innovation and Scientific Research” Foundation. The establishment was a separate, working moment—a step that CCBRE took to create an independent organization in support of applied scientific research, education, and sustainable innovation in the Plovdiv region and throughout Bulgaria.
